Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are actually open and may shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must satisfy the subsequent requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a home which has a combined gross home income that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined residence money will not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and wish not submit any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent people from homes with combined R350 000 and nsfas 2025 R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the right Identity Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored of their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are learning or intend to research in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to nsfas status check wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric nsfas application results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
